Nestled in the heart of Nob Hill, Ecco Gelato serves up a cold treat for those hot summer days or just a late night snack. Gelato is an Italian treat, usually made with 5-8% butter fat, un-like ice cream which must contain at least 10% fat by definition.
The flavors are constantly rotating. French vanilla, blue berry, caramel, cappuccino, chocolate hazelnut, lavender, green tea, stracciatella, mint, lemon and ginger-coconut are among the flavors you can choose from.
A small will set you back $3.50 and includes up to two different flavors. The bigger the size the more flavors you can combine. They will also pack a pint so you can take it home and enjoy.
Ecco also features a full espresso bar for all of you caffeine junkies.
The interior is modern and simplistic. The interior is small, a few tables inside and a two small tables on the sidewalk.
Unique flavors, reasonably priced and open late, all factors that make me recommend this place to satisfy that sweet tooth.

um, not that good, honestly. was expecting a lot better, especially since it was kinda expensive! a dang kiddie-size (no more than a heaping tablespoon) was 2.50 a pop. also, most gelato places have a better flavor selection. have not tried the espresso, but i’ll stick with what i know is a good bang for my buck–starbucks.
I disagree with the above comment I felt the gelato was delicious and reasonably priced this place isn’t Claim Jumper with hefty portions its gelato. The service was great nice location. Great Gelato….
i also agree with the second comment. very good flavor selection and if you have a sophisticated pallet for espresso then you will undoubtedly know that starbucks is second rate and the mcdonalds of coffee. the espresso was delicious
The gelato had been worth the price some time ago with intense exotic flavors. My last visit put me off temptation–more like carnival ice now–too bad.
Good gelato. I don’t think you would go here if you are expecting a dollar menu. It is small portions, but good and the service is good.
