I can vouch for the fact that the Frontier has been around a lot longer than 35 years; we used to go there when I was in high school at Del Norte in the early 70's. The food is terrific and the prices are still so reasonable; even though we live in AZ now, we never miss the opportunity to drop in at the Frontier when we're "back home" in Albuquerque. I grew up in Albuquerque but have been away for 27 years now. I can vouch for the fact that the Frontier has been around a lot longer than 35 years; we used to go there when I was in high school at Del Norte in the early 70′s.

I love the anything with red or green chile and the Frontier burger as great! You can be the prices and the ambiance if that's one would call it. It's a student hangout - what more can one say. A great place to hang out, read, visit, study, and eat good food while you're at it. I buy buckets of chopped green chile there on a regular basis. I'd be lost if it were to shut down! The interviewers took me across the street for lunch, The Frontier. The food was great and perfect for a University area. I was offered a position which I took. Starting in June of that year I began eating on a regular basis at Frontier. My daughter took up the habit when she entered UNM and now it is a favorite with my grandsons. They love the breakfast burrito, the pancakesk, the hamburgers and the chile. My wife and I often drive from the far NE heights to have a burger or breakfast(at any time of the day) If they ever close we may have to move out of town. My last visit was just a few weeks ago. I am surprised at the negative comments on this forum - to me it is still the best and it is the place I often take out-of-towners who want something different and happily memorable! They're brilliant! The green chile at the Frontier has gotten better in the last few months. According to Albuquerque Magazine, they stopped making it themselves and contracted it out. Good move!
