An Albuquerque institution, Mr. Powdrell’s Original Barbeque has been slow smoking meat since 1969. This family owned restaurant is located just south of Montano on 4th street in ABQ’s north valley.
Dine-in or carryout, Powdrells offers variety of slow smoked pork, beef, chicken and sausage.

Good BBQ. An ABQ must. Just roll down the window when you drive down 4th street and you will see what I mean. You can smell the smoker, yum.
Well it’s not everyday you get takeout to Denver, but man, what a treat – thanks Kat! The beef was office-voted “off the hook”. Hotlinks were fantastic. The sauce was simmered to perfection…outstanding flavor. You got my vote!!!
