Local small town diner preserved in Albuquerque’s far North Valley. Murphy’s looks inside probably exactly as it did twenty years ago. Its interior is adorned with an eclectic western motif featuring murals, wooden tools and animal skulls. Seating is plentiful with booths, tables and chairs and a diner counter.
Murphy’s caters to many local regulars and the areas vast population of commercial workers. Breakfast is served all day along with daily specials posted on the menu board. The menu is all over the place: seafood, burgers, steaks, NM/TX food and Italian food – You won’t have a hard time finding something you like.
Pros: Large portions, cheap prices and friendly workers.
Cons: Food is OK, it tastes like it came from a large can or freezer, slapped on the grill or in the deep fryer and served.
Overall it’s worth the STOP, but not worth the TRIP.
