Route 66 Malt Shop features a variety of burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches and a variety of old time malt shop style drinks, such as homemade root beer, malts, shakes and sodas. Its signature menu items include its award winning homemade root beer, blue cheese topped green chile cheeseburger and two-lane hot dog (your choice red or green).
The malt shop will be moving from its current location near Downtown/Old Town in mid March and be re-opening in the Nob Hill area later in 2010.

Sad to see this place move out of the neighborhood, the food and service have always been great.
what do you mean move? is it closing?
No, I heard they are moving to Nob Hill.
Not sure where they relocated to, but they are closed, I drove by last night.
Thursday, Oct. 7. Decided to try the new Nob Hill Route 66 Malt Shop, and should have passed it up. Ordered the ‘special’ Cowboy Burger on the recommendation of the waitress. My parnter ordered the Cadillac Burger. The first service of it was rare and cold. I brought them back to be cooked, and when the waitress brought them back she DROPPED the baskets on the table and walked away. Even after being ‘regrilled’ they were still cold and raw, just dipped in grease. We refused to eat them despite the waitress telling us that “even the health department said our meat was okay even rare”. DO NOT EAT THERE!
